FLAVOURED PODS (EX MENTHOL AND TOBACCO) NOW BANNED IN THE USA

President Donald Trump made the announcement late last week that all flavoured e-cig cartridges (like those used in JUUL and NJOY) would be banned, ending social media speculation of a total flavour ban.

Vapers in the USA were concerned that ALL flavours were about to be banned, but will now be relieved that bottles of flavoured e-liquids for use in open tank systems and drippers have not been included in the ban.

Vendors in the USA have until February 2nd 2020 to comply with the new guidelines that were issued by the FDA.

Limiting the flavour ban to pods and cartridge-based closed systems is a result of the FDA’s assessment that these product types are more likely to be used by Youth.

It may not be the end for flavoured cartridges, however, as they will still be eligible to apply for PMTA , the regime goes into force in May 2020.
