VAPING HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM HAMILTON'S SMOKE FREE POLICY
Policy in front of Hamilton City Council at Thursday's meeting would have made public spaces in the CBD, including Garden Place, Civic Square and Victoria on the River, smoke and vape free.
But an amendment, put forward by Cr Mark Bunting and supported seven votes to three, removed references to vaping.
"I personally don't like the look of vaping but that's not for me to decide in this case. I think decisions have to be made on sound medical evidence," Bunting said.
